Music Lessons
There are many good reasons to learn an instrument.
Through instrumental music lessons students build a range of skills in different areas, and a world of artistic expression is opened to them.
Bonnie’s goal is for all her students to gain firstly the skills and then the confidence to express themselves through their cello playing.
Bonnie encourages her students to sit exams, give concerts and join ensembles, and to participate in the wider musical community, and thus a social dimension is added to their music studies.
She has had particular success in working with the very young beginner age group (beginning at 4-6 years old).
What is different about Bonnie’s lessons?
Bonnie brings a unique perspective to lessons: she is a professional performer on her chosen instrument, and also has experience teaching at the University level for theoretical and historical subjects.
Asides from this, Bonnie has a natural affinity for teaching, and has had a wealth of experience in this field, working at various schools and also with outreach programmes for the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.
